Hi, I’m Dr. Erin Faules.Â
I’m a service driven doctor on a mission to educate and challenge you to live your healthiest life and take charge of your health.
My hope is that this education will spread like wildfire.
Work with Dr. ErinI graduated from Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine and I’m board certified in Family Medicine. I spent my first few years practicing hospital medicine before settling into my true love of wellness and disease prevention. My time in acute care imprinted a deep respect for what our healthcare system can accomplish when lives are on the line, as well as allowing me to directly witness the devastation chronic disease creates. This now fuels my core purpose—educating my patients (and anyone who will listen) in preventing this damage before it sets in, inspiring them to truly thrive.
Seeing patients struggle with illness at too young of an age fueled my passion to be a part of the solution. But why did some patients get better, and some did not? Why did some folks get the same diseases as the rest of their family, and some avoided it? This curiosity led me to a genomics fellowship to further understand how data can be used to drive health outcomes in a precise way.
My passion for changing healthcare was sparked by my personal health journey. In my second year of medical school, I was diagnosed with Lupus, a systemic autoimmune condition. I was told by my specialist I would be on medication to suppress my immune system for the rest of my life, and literally laughed out of the office when I asked if anything I could do with my diet or lifestyle might change my outcome. In that moment, I felt helpless. But I am forever grateful to that doctor, as the next years turned into the greatest growth journey of my life as I took that power back.
The next decade was filled with lots of fumbling and trial & error, ultimately leading me to the best health of my life. I changed my diet, my workout regimen, and learned how to create boundaries in my life. I cut out processed foods, and learned to meditate. I tried anything and everything, and over time, learned what my body needed. Today, my auto-immune antibodies are non-existent and I have not been on a pharmaceutical medication for nearly a decade. A few years ago, I read my personal genomics report with tears rolling down my face. This report detailed in minutes what it took me a decade to learn on my own about what my body truly required to heal. One thing about this experience has become crystal clear—patients deserve doctors to be on their side. I plan to be the doctor to you that I wish I would have had throughout my journey, and I hope you’ll let me.
I understand first-hand the overwhelming feeling of navigating our healthcare system, and more importantly the liberation that comes with taking control back of your health outcomes. I now use my personal health experience, years of clinical experience, and my why—along with each patient’s individual data, to co-create a blueprint for the health you imagine. We will review your lifestyle and history in detail, analyze your genomics and in depth labwork, and formulate a plan for sustainable health habits and concrete change.
Most importantly, I believe joy feeds health. When not practicing medicine, you can find me hanging out with my dogs, practicing yoga, adventuring around the world, or laughing with my friends and family!
